Hello Ladyees! I’m taking over the blog for a few minutes to talk about what I wore during the Essence Music Festival. I consider myself a Ladyee, so I’m thankful for the opportunity to do a guest post on this blog!
I had the privilege of attending the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans this past July, and it was such a wonderful experience. From the fashion (good and bad), to the food, to the people, this city has so much character it’s unbelievable. It was a little over 100 degrees every single day while we were there. We also did a lot of walking, so “chic but comfy” was my mantra for the weekend.
Here a few pictures of what I wore to the concerts:
Top and Bubble Skirt – H&M – I love, love, love this top. I should have bought it in every color available! It’s so comfortable, and the slightly scrunched sleeves add life to it.
Earrings – Forever 21
Shoes – Nine West
Clutch – Old Navy
On Canal Street waiting for the shuttle – I think my makeup was starting to melt from the heat at this point.

Day two, waiting on the shuttle – this time I was smart – I wore flats! And, I waited in the lobby of the Ritz Carlton. No I did not stay there, but hey, it had AC
Top and skirt – H&M
Caged Sandals – Target
Earrings – Forever 21
Hair & Makeup by the fab stylists at the CoverGirl booth
The concerts were so much fun, especially because I had awesome seats – so awesome that I sat in front of celebs – no joke! My favorite performance was by Mary J. Blige – she kept her outfits simple but glamorous. Here’s my favorite picture of her on stage:

And, my weekend wouldn’t have been complete without seeing my dream husband Idris Elba like three times. I mean, look at him! Sigh! Stay Fab, Ladyees! – Busola
