Hope everyone’s week is off to an awesome start! Did you catch the Golden Globes (well mostly the Red Carpet shows)? I sort of flipped back and forth between other shows and the award show. I did however take a good look at all the dresses online yesterday and while I wasn’t floored by any one celeb, here are the dresses/looks I liked the most and why -

Diane Kurger in Christian Lacroix
This details on this dress are gorgeous and Diane wears it beautifully. Here hair is perfect, the jewels aren’t over the top and her Raven Kauffman clutch works great with the whole ensemble.

Emily Blunt in Dolce and Gabbana
The frothy chiffon and flattering silhouette of this dress make it a knock out, it totally works on Emily Blunt. I love the color on her and the Lorraine Schwartz bracelets are exquisite (as expected.) Love this look!

Maggie Gyllenhaal in Roland Mouret
The structure and origami like detail on this dress are really lovely but the color doesn’t do much for Maggie Gyllenhaal’s complexion. I do however like Maggie’s makeup, it’s understated and flawless.

Anne Hendrick in Christian Siriano
This dress works on Anne Hendrick, her red hair and gorgeous curves all make for the perfect bombshell meet glam look. It’s also awesome she picked a gown by up and coming designer Christian Siriano. In addition, the Christian Louboutin clutch, Loree Rodkin earrings and bracelet work great with Anne’s entire look.
Wild cards

Chloe Sevigny in Valentino
I always expect Chloe Sevginy to deviate from the expected and familiar, fashion wise. The Romantic ruffles and color on this Valentino dress are beautiful but I can’t help but think this dress would work only on her and a few other folks. The color works perfect for her complexion and she pulls it off beautifully.

Ginnifer Goodwin in Vionnet
I totally LOVE this color on Ginnifer!! It’s gorgeous. Although the dress is short and not as grand as the other dresses on the red carpet, it works for her. It’s youthful and super chic. Ginnifer’s hair looks awesome, her Brian Atwood pumps are simple yet dressy. She looks striking and the entire look works even more because it’s so unexpected!
So there we have it! I noticed some of the looks on the red carpet are representative of a few Spring and Summer 2010 trends, expect the return of ruffles (they obviously never went anywhere), tons of pastels and shades of blue similar to the color of Ginnifer’s dress. What are your favorite Spring trends? Did you like any of the dresses on the Golden Globe red carpet?
Stay Fab!
